the story up to this point
Art, creativity of all types and genres was always present in my life. Theater, music, film, books, art, crafts, making stuff and using what was at hand.
These were always there like food, air, water, and shelter. In fact, making my own shelter was a part of my life.
As the name indicates, in the third act of my life, it seems most appropriate to focus on building, supporting, and creating community. This can be done in various ways, all of which I am exploring. Some of the projects already in process are listed on the projects and ideas page and you are invited and welcome to join and participate or to make suggestions on any of them.
philosophy
Repurposing existing materials and making new things from old things has always been my passion and default action but lately the concern for overusing our natural resources has made it more of a life philosophy rather than a preference.
Choosing to live lighter is more important now than ever. Each project I choose to engage with has that philosophy inform the decision of engaging and putting the ideas of reuse and reduce forward.

Finding a balance between nature and human demands, learning about ecology and about the trees, grasses, herbs, soil health, animals and the interaction between all those pieces and using the permaculture principles of earth care, fair share, and people care drive my actions.
